Hey Gang,
This past weekend I had the honor of photographing my assistant’s wedding. Here’s a silly teaser for much more to follow. Come back tomorrow for some more highlights of an amazing wedding.

Hey Gang,
Sorry I know Ive been MIA for a bit now but I was away at workshop, well not technically away but busy at one! My buddy Scott from Capturing the light photography attended Cliff Mautner’s workshop in Phili last year. Scott couldn’t say enough about how awesome the workshop was so when I heard that Cliff was coming to Kitchener, I know Kitchener out of all place I couldn’t give up the opportunity. The workshop was geared towards getting to know your equipment better and understanding the different forms of light be it artificial or natural, I’d recommend this to anyone. I just want to put a personal thanks to Cliff and Scott for putting this together and a HUGE shout out to all the new people I met! Click here for more info about the Workshop.
Hey Gang,
Happy gorgeous Monday morning!! I hope all had a great mother’s day! Lez, the kids and I celebrated two special occasions yesterday, one being mothers day and the other being our 12-year anniversary. I thought Id share a little of our special day 12 years ago, sorry about the poor scan but you have to remember that we got married before digital photography was big. I get asked all the time who shot our wedding, we were so fortunate to have my best friend’s father capture our special day for us. So thank you Mr. C! I really have to give this woman credit not just for being an amazing mother, daughter; friend and wife but I can’t get over her selflessness. I’m truly blessed to have a woman that supports me in every way. Love you Lez.

Hey Gang,
Happy Monday! I have to admit I’m so fortunate to be attracting such amazing couples or is it that they just have good taste for photography! *LOL*. As I love sitting down getting to know my couples most of the time they want to get to know me too and the question that comes up most often is how long have you been doing this for? For me though it wasn’t really a question on how long but more when. What I mean is when did I realize that this hobby called photography became more than just a passion that maybe I could have a career in it. It was this photo of the kids that made me want to capture these intimate moments that will forever be cherished. Its sad to think if I wasn’t there with my camera this moment would not exist; sure it happened but would we have remembered it? That’s exactly why I love weddings, it’s for the moments! I’m honored to be the one to historically document my couple’s first steps of their family. I want to believe that every year that passes these photos become more treasured and I want people that weren’t at the event to look at these captured moments and say “I can tell you have a great time!”
The following photo was taken with F-word….film. I still have my Minolta xe-5 with the 50mm 1.7 Roccor lens, this image is tad soft but it was a manual focus camera. A side note I remember when digital was relatively new and the argument was that the quality was nowhere near 35mm film. Today the same argument stands with 2-1/4 medium format film; I wonder what we’ll be saying in a few years?
